| Studio B Boyertown’s brand-new art studio and gallery, Studio B, opened its doors to over 500 visitors recently during Boyertown’s Sixth Annual Holiday Open House Tour and featured an exhibit of the work of 24 artists. Studio B serves as the home of Boyertown’s Arts and Activities Alliance, a committee of Building a Better Boyertown (BBB), and will offer monthly exhibits and art lessons for children and adults, beginning the week of January 19, 2009. The gallery welcomes visitors at any point during scheduled teaching hours and Fridays, 5-7 for wine and cheese and Saturdays 11-3. “Making pots is like cooking. You have to start
with good ingredients to get a flavorful, satisfying result,” says Willi
Singleton, a local ceramicist whose ‘good ingredients’ come from the
local clay found in his own backyard in Kempton, PA. Singleton’s work is
world recognized for its contemporary and elegant design, which he
achieves using a very traditional wood-fired climbing kiln. |
